J.wines:  Helping you discover the wines you love.

WHO/WHAT: Janice Kanters-McTaggart is the founder of J.wines, and this is her story:

I was “born in the USA” and have lived in the Netherlands since 1984. I am fully fluent in both Dutch and English. I have always enjoyed a good meal and one of the first things I fell in love with in Europe/The Netherlands was the “Culinary Culture”:  Dining with good food and wine, family/friends and taking the time to enjoy it all. After quite a few years working fulltime at various marketing management jobs for multinationals,  I decided to switch gears and do something I really love.

I love wine; the taste of it, the story behind it and how it brings people (and food) together.

I wanted to discover more about wine, so I studied at the Dutch Wine Academy and earned my Sommelier’s  diploma in 2007. I really wanted to “work” with wine (and food), so started my own company, J.wines, in 2008.  At J.wines I help people discover the wines they love by offering the following:

• Spring and Fall WineTastings – The best in Rotterdam!
• Masterclasses:  Culinary Wine and Food Pairings, Cheese and Wine, Discover Your Favorite Wine
• Private Dining in the Wine Studio  – Restaurant-style dining  with wine/food pairings
• Wine Advice – Wine and Food Pairings, Wine Cellar Management and  Restaurant Wine Lists

WHERE: J.wines Wine Studio is nestled in our spacious garden with large terrace and veranda on the picturesque Ringvaartweg in Rotterdam-Prinsenland, just minutes from Rotterdam city center.
